Service for Assistive
Technology: Communication
This service is for those needing consultation on technical aids and technology to assist with:
- oral and non-verbal communication
- written communication
- telephone communication
- environmental controls
Clientele:
- 0-18 years old (or 18 to 21 years old if still attending high school)
- Registered or not at the Mackay Rehabilitation Centre
- Clients requiring English services
- Clients with a motor or language impairment, presenting with significant and persistent disabilities in the area of oral and written communication that limit access to their environment
- Evaluation, consultation, clinical follow-up and technical support
Assistive device support with oral and written communication, environmental control and telephone communication
Required documents:
- Registration form
- Evaluation report from a health professionnal (occupational therapist, speech pathologist) documenting disabilities and needs
