Service for Assistive
  Technology: Communication

This service is for those needing consultation on technical aids and technology to assist with:

  • oral and non-verbal communication
  • written communication
  • telephone communication
  • environmental controls

Clientele:

  • 0-18 years old (or 18 to 21 years old if still attending high school)
  • Registered or not at the Mackay Rehabilitation Centre
  • Clients requiring English services
  • Clients with a motor or language impairment, presenting with significant and persistent disabilities in the area of oral and written communication that limit access to their environment
Services offered:
  • Evaluation, consultation, clinical fol­low-up and technical support
    Assistive device support with oral and written communication, environmental control and telephone communication

Required documents:

  • Registration form
  • Evaluation report from a health professionnal (occupational therapist, speech pathologist) documenting disabilities and needs
