What's Happening

Adapted playground

The Mackay Rehabilitation Centre sees over 200 handicapped children pass through their doors every day. They attend our campus for schooling, rehabilitation and therapeutic recreation.

It has been a dream of the children to have a playground specifically adapted for children in wheelchairs. And this is finally going to be done in the summer of 2004, thanks to a generous donation by the Donald Berman Foundation, the remainder being matched by the Mackay Rehabilitation Centre Foundation and the funds raised through the staff Holiday fund-raising party of December 2003. We are very happy about this and want to thank the Donald Berman Foundation for their help.

Adapted bus

Also thanks to the Donald Berman Foundation and the Mackay Rehabilitation Centre Foundation, we have been able to purchase a new adapted bus that replaces the former one that dated back to 1985. The bus is used to take children to school, to our Camp Massawippi in the Eastern Townships, and for outings that take place during the year.
